A winter sport where you decide yourself where and how far to go and at what speed, is snowshoeing. The snowshoes are strapped onto your (sturdy) winter boots and then you take off at your own speed across snow-covered fields and meadows and on alpine pastures sparkling in white.

This way you will discover places which are normally not accessible on foot in winter, and you can see wildlife and enchanted scenery.

If you have never been snowshoeing, we recommend one of the guided hikes in Maria Alm. Here you will learn the proper technique for strapping on the equipment as well as walking with snowshoes. Of course, you can also rent snowshoes in the regional sports shops.
