In mid-August the “5th season“ begins in Salzburger Land. It is the time of harvest, the time of festivals, of encounters and enjoyment. During the Farmers' Autumn in Maria Alm and all the state of Salzburg, you have the opportunity to witness the traditional rural life at hundreds of handicraft demonstrations, hikes, guided tours through the cottage garden, cooking lessons, harvest festivals, the annual driving of cattle down the mountain and traditional customs events.

The Hochkönigman: from a bold idea to one of the most popular trail running competitions in Austria. The Hochkönig Skyrace is part of the MIGU Skyrunner World Series – the World Cup for Skyrunners. Total prize money: EUR 6,000. With challenging routing, the Hochkönig is a popular setting, a running event in a class of its own and, with three superbly established trails, also part of the Austrian Trailrunning-Cup.

The "Kupellauf" (Miners' race) is a really “old” race in remembrance of the mining period in Mühlbach am Hochkönig, just a few minutes by car from Hotel MorgenZeit away. An incredibly scenic major sports event for all hobby runners and Nordic walkers. Past numerous rustic pastures and huts, the Kumpellauf is an unforgettable running experience.

The "International Saalfelden Jazz Festival" is a music festival focusing on Jazz, held every year at the end of August since 1978 in the neighbouring town of Saalfelden. Concerts in the various parks, at the town square, in the congress centre, at taverns, mountain inns and mountain huts provide entertainment.

Since 2016, there is also a smaller Jazz Festival “Three Days of Jazz” held every year in January.

The Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun is a triathlon event held since 2012 in the Zell am See-Kaprun region. Some 3,000 competitors battle it out for medals here.

But you can also experience this event as a spectator. Additional competitions, such as the IRONKIDS or the Iron Girl Run make this sports events interesting for all triathletes.

Two times a year, Zell am See puts on a big lake festival. Various bands, several beer tents, bars, a market and much more make up the setting for these festivals. In addition, shows on land, in the water and in the air are offered. International pilots frequently visit Zell am See to show off their impressive skills during these festivals.

The Zell Lake Festival is one of the oldest and most-visited events in Salzburger Land.
